SPIRITUAL MEDITATIONS
Psalm 1:1-2 says: [1] Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. [2]But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.
And so this seeker does attempt to meditate on God's law, day and night.
Entries in this blog that fall under the SPIRITUAL MEDITATIONS category will be about Bible passages, and about the meditations of others who have meditated on God's Word.
Some people are happy that they can "read through the bible in a year!" or other time period. I find I cannot do this.
Most passages in God's word are of such heavy impact to me that I find it takes far more than a cursory reading to internalize the meaning, and how to put it to use in my life.
For example, you will read, in my meditation on Ephesians 4:28, how it took many years for me to internalize the significance of that scripture on my life and my future, and on many others around me.
Because of how long it takes me to internalize even a single passage of scripture, I don't read a lot of other writers about their meditations. One I am reading now as I can is Oswald Chambers' My Utmost For His Highest. You will probably find several commentaries on his views in this section.
The main purpose of these SPIRITUAL MEDITATIONS is to put forth thoughts I have on how I can put God's Word to practical use in my life, with the hope that readers of these meditations might find ways they too can put them to practical use in their own lives, with the main aim, of course, of learning to walk closer with Jesus.
I encourage all readers to post comments (you will need to register to do this, no cost, no spam), and let me and the other readers know how these meditations helped you if they did, and what impact these scriptures have had on your own lives.
These postings will happen only as they happen, not on any regular schedule, so please bear with me if there is a gap between one and the next.
Blessings to you all.
David
